Summary of the Role

The Investment Consultant (IC) directly engages with mid-market RIAs that use various investment solutions throughout client portfolios. This position promotes and wholesales Calamos ETF, private fund, and mutual fund products to acquire and retain assets.  The IC exclusively builds and manages RIA relationships from Calamos’ Chicago office via email, phone and Zoom correspondence.     

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generate and retain assets within Calamos’ ETF, private fund, and mutual fund product suite
  • Generate business opportunities within a territory through direct outreach to RIAs
  • Manage and cultivate key relationships with wealth management clients while positioning Calamos’ full product offerings
  • Articulate Calamos solutions with competing products to educate RIAs on similarities and differences in design 
  • Maintain knowledge of industry related topics
  • Proficiency in delivering value-add presentations to a broad array of audiences
  • Update activity in CRM and engage with Sales Management on tactical initiatives and projects
  • Attend company, industry and other related events as directed
  • Manage related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years direct industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge and proven client facing capabilities 
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • ETF, private fund, and mutual fund product familiarity
  • Proven industry experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with significant client interaction experience
  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity, ethics, collaboration, skills, and ability to manage and develop talent
  • PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and sales database applications
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 annually. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and this position may be eligible for quarterly discretionary bonus payments. Please note that this is the current estimate of the base salary range intended for this role at the time of posting. The base salary range may be adjusted in the future.
