Spear AI is seeking an entry level technician. You will be part of a cross functional team designing, building, testing, and deploying unmanned maritime sensor systems. The initial focus is on acoustics but will quickly expand to other modalities as well as to mobile systems.

Responsibilities
You will work with other technicians and engineers to build, assemble, and test sensor systems.
You will be assigned a variety of tasks building or repairing parts that will include soldering, assembly, basic machining (drilling, cutting, etc), crimping, and similar tasks.
You will participate in field testing by deploying and recovering systems in the water, preparing systems for the water, or servicing them after they are recovered
You will perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks on machinery and tools
You will help manage inventory and parts
You will undertake such other tasks as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
Exemplary attention to detail, a focus on quality, and an uncompromising focus on safety.
An excellent attitude and work ethic.
Some prior experience working with your hands whether professionally, academically or as a hobby. Examples could include working on cars or boats, helping with home renovations, lego robotics leagues, vocational classes, etc.
Suitable written and verbal communication skills for the job
Ability to physically participate in at sea deployment, test, and recovery operations including ability to lift, carry, and maneuver on a small boat at sea, communicate verbally, and carry out fine manipulations.
You may be asked to obtain a SECRET security clearance. This will be at no expense to you. For resources on what a security background involves and what disqualifies people reference the CIA requirements. This does preclude any level of recreational drug use including Marijuana if you are asked to obtain a clearance.
Desired Qualifications
Prior experience with various mechanical and electrical fabrication and repair techniques
Basic computer familiarity (google suite, MS Office, etc)
Small boat experience
Basic familiarity with linux
Experience with basic electrical troubleshooting tools (multimeter etc)
Any prior machining experience
Veteran status or significant familiarity with interacting with both enlisted and commissioned military personnel.
