Your Role:
The Group Director, Project Management is the department lead over one portfolio of business (made up of multiple clients/brands) within the Inizio Evoke platform.
In this position, you will work within the central Operations team including finance, resourcing, and cross-functional department leads to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence.
You support new business and onboarding efforts, ensure changes in process and tools are consistently adopted across all agency teams, provide direction and oversight for all financial reporting and scope development, support ongoing resourcing evaluations and optimization, and represent within cross-functional leadership touchpoints and decisions.
You lead the deployment of operational initiatives related to workflow and delivery, and continually optimize best practices, leveraging performance data from Finance and workflow technology.
This is a fully remote role reporting to an EVP, Global Operations.
Brand Management
- Oversees Project Management discipline for designated clients / brands
- Works as a true partner to agency leadership and senior department leads to ensure flawless execution of client deliverables
- Works with Director or Assoc Dir to review and approve scopes and estimates for complex, multi-vendor, and multi-project programs as well as annual SOWs
- Works with Director or Assoc Dir to review and approve brand- and account-level planning (Gantts, master project plans, etc.)
- Manages changes to allocation and utilization based on shifts to project workflow and/or budget
- Client-facing on a senior level and able to onboard clients to agency process, talk to risk identification and mitigation
- Proactively identifies opportunities to adjust process for efficiencies both internally and externally and oversees preparation and presentation of well-defined solutions to agency leadership
Finance Management
- Oversight on portfolio revenue forecast, speaking to the numbers and supporting their teams completion of data entry on weekly/monthly basis
- Attends monthly revenue management meetings representing alongside the portfolio Managing Director
- Has high-level oversight of brand and client finances, and has awareness of large-scale challenges (write-offs, large overages, client-related issues such as delayed POs, disagreements over change orders, etc.)
- Identifies opportunities to streamline/improve agency pricing
- Monitors PM team billability and utilization, pro-actively identifying opportunities for cross-brand or cross-agency reallocations or support
Resourcing & Team Management
- Serves as escalation for concerns with over/under resourcing to department leads, reviews and approves all resource allocation prepared by PM team and provides mitigations plans for significant shifts
- Oversees Director, Project Management and below
- Regularly assesses team skills, provides training and mentoring
- Responsible for assessing PM staffing levels, profitability, brand assignments, and understanding strengths and weaknesses for entire group managed with a tactful and steady approach
- Monitors team utilization ensures managers are addressing workload issues and managing burnout
Agency
- Sits on the portfolio senior leadership team alongside the Managing Director, Strategy and Creative capability leads
- Constantly on the lookout for opportunities to optimize the team, partners with Operations peers, looks to examples from other business units, agencies, and other industries
- True ambassador for the agency: supports agency culture, directives, and collaborates with PMO and agency leadership
- Develops and maintains relationships with department leads, collaborates in a solution-oriented manner
- Responsible for change management and roll out of new agency processes / tools / expectations alongside peers
- Leads department initiatives to improve and streamline internal processes, workflows, training, and more
- Participates in and staffs new business efforts, ability to present workflow, process, pricing, etc., in new business pitches
- Innovative and strategic mindset, pushing the agency for growth, scaling our business, and using technology to build efficiencies
You will bring:
- A minimum of 10+ years of Project Management experience in an advertising agency
- A minimum of 7 years managing 4-5 direct reports (who are also managers)
- A minimum of 4 years of healthcare/pharma advertising experience
