About The Role

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day accounting functions, monthly and annual close process, General Accounting and Accounts Payable functions, while also providing leadership and mentorship to the accounting team. This is a hands-on role with accountability for month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and support for audit and tax requirements. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with management experience, ERP expertise, and the ability to drive process improvements. This position requires full-time onsite presence in Pleasanton, CA.

How You Will Contribute

  • Participate and help lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations across all accounts.
  • Oversee daily operations of Accounts Payable and General Ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, accruals, and journal entries
  • Lead cash and inventory accounting, including daily cash positioning and bank reconciliations, payment controls, inventory costing and valuation, subledger to GL reconciliations, and support for cycle counts and inventory adjustments
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial reporting reviews
  • Partner with Director of accounting in overseeing accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets and revenue recognition.
  • Conduct flux analysis and provide insights on financial performance and variances
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Partner with external auditors and tax teams to support audits and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, IT, Legal, Marketing) to ensure proper recording and compliance of invoices, accruals, and contracts
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for complex GL transactions and accruals
  • Lead ad hoc projects assigned by senior management with accuracy and timeliness
  • Mentor and manage AP/GL professionals, fostering development, training, and a supportive team culture
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting operations

Who We Are Searching For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3-4 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with the full accounting cycle (GL, AR, AP, payroll, revenue, reconciliations)
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and audit processes
  • Big 4 public accounting background is a plus
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP systems and advanced Excel skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization
  • Leadership style that balances accountability, constructive feedback, and recognition of team successes
  • Demonstrates calm under pressure while maintaining a supportive and transparent approach to team management
