PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This role will be supporting the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC), under the direction of the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC), runs regularly scheduled numerical predictions of the global atmosphere and ocean at Stennis Space Center, MS. You will significantly contribute to their COAMPS/COAMPS-OS Software Maintenance project.  

Job Responsibilities:
•Repair, adapt, troubleshoot, and verify software tools to maintain operational baseline capability of the COAMPS and COAMPS-OS systems at FNMOC on both NIPRNET and SIPRNET
•Implement revisions required due to Information Assurance (IA) directives, security changes, and Navy Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance
•Implement and maintain modifications to the operational relational database management system interface in support of updates/changes to the COAMPS and COAMPS-OS software.
•Modify and maintain the Cylc meta-scheduler software in support of COAMPS and COAMPS-OS software
•Integrate COAMPS modeling capabilities into software containers, such as Singularity, on DSRC servers according to configurations identified by the FNMOC to facilitate porting COAMPS modeling operations between dissimilar computational architecture environments.
•Establish and maintain formal configuration control process for all delivered documents, and utilize FNMOC configuration management practices for software
•Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for assigned projects.
•Prepares detailed specifications for programs.
•Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
•Has full technical knowledge and responsibility of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
•Understands the business or function for which application is designed.
•Duties also include instructing, directing and checking the work of other systems analysts and programming personnel.
•Responsible for quality assurance review.
•Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members.
•Provide Monthly Progress Reports
•Provide Bi-Weekly status reports

Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing large, complex AIS projects is closely related to the work to be automated, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics intensive discipline.
•Seven years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation of business, mathematical, or scientific setting using a variety of information technology resources. 
•Experience with current technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies.  
•Must have managed or had significant involvement with complex or substantive information technology projects including one year of experience in management and supervision.
•Must be able to work remotely 3-4 days per week and appear in person at Stennis Space Center 1-2 days per week.  
o Remote requires that candidates have excellent communication skills
o Establish regular meetings and communication touch points
o Be a self-starter and can prioritize based on customer feedback, workload, subject matter expertise.
•Must have a DoD Secret Clerance
•Must have a CompTIA Sec+ or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
