Solar Project Engineer

Solar Project Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering analysis, including structural calculations for company products, in accordance with applicable codes and standards
 - Draft construction documents (plans, assembly drawings, shop drawings, and details) for ground mounted solar racking systems
 - Participate in internal and upstream supply chain QC operations including documentation peer reviews and First Article Inspections (FAIs)
 - Evaluate inbound documentation to identify potential hurdles to successful project completion
 - Maintain intimate familiarity with best design practices and new products used in industry through continuous review of manuals, improved design techniques, etc.
 - Interface with company staff, clients, and permitting officials
 - Propose, design, and validate new ways of reducing the total amount of structural material in racking systems to reduce the overall cost of the system without compromise to quality
 - Support Sales Staff in performing preliminary project analysis, estimating material take-offs, and responding to technical questions
 
Solar Project Engineer Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelors in Engineering Civil or Mechanical Engineering or similar
 - Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred
 - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, reports
 - Ability to perform work independently and reliably according to work schedules and assignments
 - Capability for navigating, interpreting, and applying code requirements
 - Commanding proficiency in AutoCAD
 - Must be self-directed and resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
 - Experience with solar PV technology preferred but not required
 - Excellent interpersonal skills
