Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric services within our clinic. This role involves directing and coordinating medical/clinical care for assigned consumers, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, psychotherapy, risk assessment, and discharge planning. The provider maintains a defined caseload, meets productivity goals, and ensures that the psychiatric needs of all assigned consumers are met.
The position functions as the senior clinician on the team, actively contributes to quality improvement, and participates in the on-call rotation for the system.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as attending provider for assigned consumers, completing psychiatric assessments, updates, progress notes, treatment planning, family interventions, and risk assessments.
  • Provide medication management, informed consent, and patient education.
  • Order and interpret labs, review health assessments, and coordinate care with PCPs, ER staff, and therapists.
  • Guide the clinical team in managing treatment plan updates and consumer needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation; appoint a designee when unavailable.
  • Practice in alignment with evidence-based standards, DBHS protocols, and recovery-oriented principles.
  • Engage in clinical peer supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and outside providers (including inpatient/crisis services).
  • Complete specialized duties as required (e.g., court-ordered treatment evaluations, PAD petitions, specialized treatment plans).
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation within the EHR/EMR system.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including reducing polypharmacy.
  • Provide clinical coverage at other clinics when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program with PMHNP certification
  • Licensure & Certification:
    • Current Arizona state license
    • Board Certified (PMHNP-BC)
    • Valid DEA Certification
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years post-doctoral experience delivering psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and/or adults

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong crisis management and de-escalation skills
  • Proficiency with EMR and MS Office
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration abilities
  • Ability to supervise and support other clinical staff
  • Strong initiative and accountability in completing clinical tasks
