Hours based on student need
Job Goal: To positively represent the school and district while supporting daily operations and fostering a safe, caring learning environment. Responsibilities include general building support and direct supervision of school-aged children.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Staff members making application must meet or be able to meet “Highly Qualified” standards as outlined by the State and Federal guidelines
- High School diploma and 18 years of age at time of application
- Demonstrate proficiency in using email and Microsoft Word to support communication, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Evidence of CPR/First Aid training
- Evidence of strong communication skills
- Must be able to lift 10-40 lbs.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports to: Building Principal
Performance Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and walkie-talkies. Serve as the school receptionist when needed, welcoming visitors, answering calls, and directing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Attend and actively participate in required in-service training sessions to stay current with school procedures, safety protocols, and student support strategies.
- Provide appropriate First Aid to students in accordance with school health guidelines and training.
- Unlock and secure gymnasiums and locker rooms as needed, ensuring safe and timely access for students and staff.
- Support students with personal needs such as expressing concerns, locating lost items, and navigating school routines.
- Conduct hourly checks of hallways and restrooms to ensure student safety, cleanliness, and appropriate behavior.
- Monitor assigned lunch areas to promote a safe, respectful, and orderly environment during meal periods.
- Provide classroom supervision and management when teachers require break or release time, maintaining a structured and supportive learning atmosphere.
- Assist in managing student discipline and behavioral needs, reinforcing school expectations and collaborating with staff to support student well-being.
- Help manage student safety and behavior in outdoor and common areas during arrival and dismissal times.
- Assist administrators and teachers with various tasks, including supervision, setup, and logistical support for school activities.
- Maintain a drug-free workplace, free from alcohol and non-prescribed controlled substances, in compliance with district policy.
- Implement Board Policies 3122, 4122, and 2260 on non-discrimination, and comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee, in alignment with district goals and operational needs.
Terms of Employment: Class II; Based on student need

Compensation: Entrance level: $13.52 - Maximum level: $15.82
Benefits and compensation in accordance with the Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
ADA Requirements: Office and school building environment; sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, carrying medium-weight materials; answer telephones; strong interaction with students, parents and staff; handle district money; paperwork; computer work; filing; sorting.
