STARTING HOURLY RATE: $17.00 DOQ
HOURS: Flexible schedule; approximately 20 hours per week
The District has a temporary, part-time opportunity to add resources and talent to the organization’s support staff during a major software implementation project and change initiative. This position has an approximate duration of three months. Individuals seeking public sector experience that encourages collaboration, service to community, and learning and growth in the field of human resources would be successful.
Essential Responsibilities
· Help identify talent through support of recruitment processes and onboarding materials preparation
· Assist with records maintenance and participate in the department’s record retention activities
· Compile various information sharing documents, materials and reports, including monthly reports, organizational charts, and telephone and email directories
· Support implementation efforts of HRIS, ATS, and performance management technology platforms
· Assist with the District’s fall open enrollment process
· Assemble and enter data into various technology platforms and develop and produce statistical reports to be used for decision-making purposes
· Coordinate organization-wide training schedules and maintain training records
· Answer general inquiries and provide basic assistance and customer service to employees
· Provide support for other Human Resources Department initiatives as needed or instructed
Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Education in human resources, business administration, public administration or a related field
· Previous experience in human resources or providing executive assistance
Functional Knowledge
· Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws related to local government
· Ability to acquire and apply understanding of department and District operations, policies and procedures
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and curiosity about how to improve processes
Interpersonal and Communication
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work independently and with teams
· Capacity to accept direction from multiple individuals
· Commitment to maintain strict confidentiality of private, sensitive or confidential information
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for the position is $17.00 DOQ and the position is classified as FLSA non-exempt (eligible to earn overtime). The District offers great benefits to temporary employees, including a flexible schedule and paid time off. This position is expected to work approximately 20 hours per week.
