Job Overview:
 Supervise the manufacturing operations of underground utility boxes.

  • Work environment  Manufacturing facility with exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and varying temperatures. Regular standing, bending, lifting, and use of hand tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership: 

  • Lead, train, and manage a team of associates. 
  • Schedule and coordinate staff to meet daily operational needs. 
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback; address personnel issues promptly and implement corrective actions, when required; recommend and executes personnel actions, hiring, evaluations, and promotions.
  • Reviews and approves timecards.

Production Operations: 

  • Ensures that efficiency, performance index, quality, material variance, scrap/waste standards are met.
  • Analyze charts, work orders, production schedule, and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production outputs.
  • Applies Lean Manufacturing Processes to improve the efficiency of the department.
  • Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect appropriate quality.
  • Work as a team with other departments to meet overall company goals.

Safety & Compliance:  

  • Enforce safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. 
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Working experience with common business software
  • Ability to produce high-quality work with attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures related to fiberglass spraying and handling chemicals.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing supervision experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
