KNAPP Inc. seeks PLC Field Engineers III in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Job Duties:
Responsible for designing, commissioning, and testing of automated logistics systems for Knapp US customers. Utilize the Knapp product line including various types of conveyer technology, sorter systems, SDA A-frames, automated shuffle systems, and make connections to non-Knapp equipment that has been integrated into the system. Responsible for preparing PLC Program using Siemens technology (Step 7 of TIA portal) at individual U.S. client sites and to install, configure and commission the system on site. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot and correct any electrical issues of the installation. Provide technical oversight for PLC related parts of projects, including review of planning documents, definition of sequence of commissioning, ensuring team members' compliance with commissioning processes and safety guidelines. Responsible for ensuring that all PLC tasks and job duties are completed in time to ensure a successful startup and an operational system at the customer site on schedule.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering or similar.
- Experience, education or training in Electronics/Circuits, Motor Controls, Hardware/Programable Logic Control Programing, Input/Output Signals, and Network/Data Communications.
- Some overtime required (avg <10 hours/week).
- Frequent travel (75%) to U.S. client sites required as assigned by employer; 5% int’l travel.
