Job Summary:
Responsible for providing customer service and administrative support for Merchandisers involved in trading feed ingredients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and maintains relationships with current buyers, suppliers, and third parties.
- Negotiates freight rates and deliveries with various vendors/customers.
- Inputs and maintains company specific data.
- Maintain accurate freight rates, carrier documents and establish new carrier relationships as needed.
- Assists in trouble shooting, customer relations and problem solving for all parties.
- Serves as the first point of contact by answering telephone, texts, and emails and correctly distributing these to appropriate parties.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication with all parties using a variety of social media devices and techniques.
- Works with merchandisers on changes with customer/commodity needs.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
- Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Experience: 2-5 years in Logistics Scheduling

- Basic knowledge of supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
- Required to stand and walk and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to climb up and down stairs.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Is occasionally exposed to fumes, or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.
