Systems Engineering Intern at Hidden Level

Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments.  

As we expand, we're looking for a Systems Engineer for Summer 2026. As an intern you will gain hands-on experience with our custom hardware and software products. You can expect to gain meaningful technical experience while helping us accelerate our product development, production, and deployment of our state-of-the-art sensor network. 

Location: This position is onsite in the Syracuse, NY office. 

As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will…  

• Develop and/or modify tools and applications to analyze and monitor Hidden Level sensor performance. 
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to test advanced sensor products.
• Work in a motivated, cross-disciplinary team passionate about solving challenging problems and delivering results.
• Receive mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:  

• Integration and test of Hidden Level’s sensing equipment, from board-level to full system including drone flight testing. 
• Performance analysis of simulated data and/or live-collected data to understand system behavior and performance.
• Work in a lab environment using digital scopes, signal generators, network analyzers, and temperature chambers.
• Interface with lab equipment to automate testing.
• Development of modeling and simulation tools for modeling complex communication and radar systems.

Required Qualifications:  

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program majoring in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2026.
• A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration.
• Strong desire to learn and great communication skills.
• Some experience working in Python or MATLAB.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $23.00 to $27.00 an hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer
