Job purpose

 

The Beer Brand Manager is responsible for creating a comprehensive marketing plan for the beer segment of the business.  This position will develop and continuously update departmental sales goals and purchasing strategies, conduct market research, and is responsible for overall strategic planning of assigned brands.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Determines what new products to carry from suppliers 
  • Collaborates with Analysts on initial orders of new products 
  • Communicates with Analysts regarding specialty products and allocations that need to be added to purchase orders
  • Handles all facets of supplier incentives including creation and tracking  
  • Sets prices for products and works with Analyst Assistant to implement pricing  
  • Maintains healthy margin on all products
  • Facilitates supplier market work including work-withs
  • Facilitates supplier interaction with sales team including sales meetings
  • Spends time in the market working with key sales personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Develops effective brand strategies and communicates those strategies with key sales personnel
  • Constantly communicates pertinent brand information to sales  
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Extensive knowledge of the Beer industry
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Experience in forecasting and market research
  • Experience in negotiation and problem solving
  • Outstanding Verbal & Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal errors
  • Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision
  • Proficient in project management and operating within budget
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

 

 

 

 

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Knowledge of wine, beer and the Tryon Portfolio
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
