Job Description 

TITLE: 11 Bus Aide Openings

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation  

JOB GOAL: 

• To assist in providing safe transportation so that all students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from being transported to and from school in a safe, caring environment 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. High School Graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) 
2. Experience working with children 
3. Ability to work cooperatively with others 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Monitor and document the behaviors of a specified student as trained by the special  education staff and as per a written “behavior bus plan.” 
2. Work collaboratively with the school personnel to assure that the child’s  Individualized Education Plan goals are addressed. Communication with these  individuals should be maintained as needed and requested.  
3. Redirect the child when the student fails to follow rules and procedures within the  appropriate boundaries as instructed by the classroom teacher/elementary  administration. 
4. Document and submit to the teacher via a bus discipline form any behaviors that  violate the expected bus conduct and fail to be modified upon redirection. 
5. Submit all forms as instructed to the student’s classroom paraeducator who will  forward them to the classroom teacher. 
6. Attend all meetings regarding the student, as requested. 
7. Complete and submit time sheets to the building principal. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Below are the available openings for this upcoming school year.

Bus 1 MS/EL AM - 7:10 am to 9 am, 1.75 hours daily

Bus 1 HS PM (W/Th/F)

Bus 6 MS PM - 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, 1 hour daily

Bus 43 EL AM - 8 am to 9 am, 1 hour daily

Bus 49 EL AM - 8 am to 9 am, 1 hour daily

Bus 88 Watson AM - 8 am to 9:15 am, 1.25 hours daily

Bus 82 HS/MS/EL PM - 1:45 pm to 4:30 pm, 2.75 hours daily

Rate –$18.16 as per the negotiated contract for the probationary period of 45 working  days; followed by the regular rate of $22.70 per hour after successful completion of the  probationary period.  

EVALUATION: 

The Director of Transportation will provide an evaluation based on this job description.
