Location/Division Specific Information
The Manager, Critical Asset Protection (CAP) Investigations role is based in Frederick, MD, USA, within our dynamic Cybersecurity Program. Here, you will collaborate with world-class professionals in a strictly regulated environment.
Discover Impactful Work:
The Supervisor for CAP Investigations holds a position of trust and is responsible for coordinating the monitoring, triaging, and prevention of internal threats to safeguard company data and intellectual property. Using an array of security solutions, the Manager – CAP Investigations will support critical projects related to insider threat and data loss prevention. This team works closely with Digital Forensics Examiners to triage alerts, analyze log data, and assist with investigations while driving process improvement and maturity initiatives for the Critical Asset Protection & Investigation program.
Keys to Success:
- Manage and mentor a team of Security Analysts responsible for Insider Threat and Data Loss Prevention
- Present findings to Senior Stakeholders at the Executive level
- Monitor and triage internal threat activity using various tools, technologies, and solutions
- Consolidate critical findings, create reports, and prepare presentations to review findings with key partners
- Develop use-cases to enhance detection and alerting capabilities
- Respond to critical alerts and escalate to forensic examiners as needed
- Contribute to the development of metrics and key performance indicators
- Develop standard operating procedures, playbooks, and user documentation
- Provide process improvement recommendations to streamline incident handling, detection, and response procedures
- Collaborate with other security and IT teams to maintain and develop the team’s security solutions/tools
- Act as a Deputy to the Sr. Manager | Cyber Fraud & CAP Investigations
Experience
- 5+ years of IT, Cyber Security, or related experience
- Experience with DLP, SIEM, EDR, IRM, SOAR or UEBA solutions a plus
- Experience as Tier 1 or Tier 2 support a plus
- Leadership experience a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field – equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Cyber Security certifications a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- A self-starter who is highly inquisitive with the ability to work independently across various functions
- Ability to make informed analytic judgments and thoroughly document findings in a written and/or presentation format
- Possess an investigative approach with strong analytic and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences including stakeholders, management, and IT team members
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
- Ability to identify trends and patterns in data to make sound decisions and conclusions
- Familiarity with basic Windows and Mac operating system functionality
- Proficient with the core MS Office suite
- Ability to normalize, organize, correlate, and analyze log data using a variety of tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Splunk, Tableau, etc. a plus.
- Proficient understanding of cyber and insider threats preferred
- Crowdstrike and Zscaler experience a plus
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
On site office based. Travel and on-call availability may be required at times.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $113,500.00–$165,200.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
