Golf Snack Bar & Beverage Cart Attendant is a dual-role position that is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast and lunch items at the golf course snack bar, as well as operating the beverage cart to provide refreshments and exceptional service to members and guests on the golf courses.
Key Responsibilities:
Snack Bar Duties:
- Prepare, assemble, and serve a variety of breakfast and lunch items in a clean, timely, and sanitary manner. This requires making sandwiches, wraps, salads, mixed alcohol beverages, hot items and more.
- Extensive menu knowledge and ability to execute both food and beverage menu items.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to accurately process member charges and transactions.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the snack bar area, including restocking supplies as needed. Supplies should be stocked, refreshed and maintained on a daily basis at multiple times per day. Cleaning is on-going and expected daily.
- Process and prepare orders received via phone and online ordering system.
- Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Receive and put away daily product orders.
- Obtain and maintain a valid food handler certification in accordance with local health regulations.
- Provide the highest level of member service interaction following all Club service standards and guidelines including sense of urgency, name recognition, and providing excellent personalized service.
- Represent the quality of The Ocean Reef Club by adhering to grooming and appearance standards, style, and attitude.
Beverage Cart Duties:
- Drive the beverage cart around the golf courses, offering a selection of snacks and beverages, including alcoholic mixed beverages.
- Engage with golfers in a friendly and professional manner to ensure a positive on-course experience.
- Understand and follow golf course etiquette and golf cart driving protocols.
- Monitor inventory and restock the cart with food, beverages, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Conduct open and closing procedures.
- Handle POS transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions (hot, rainy, windy, cooler temperatures)
- Comply with all alcohol service laws and club policies.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred.
- Demonstrated success in high-volume operation preferred.
- Prior experience in a service environment required.
- Previous Club experience a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record pursuant to Ocean Reef insurance standards.
- Must be able and willing to drive multiple types of golf carts following all safety standards and regulations.
- Team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including service recovery and name recognition.
- Must be friendly, engaging, and professionally articulate.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently required.
- Must be able to use a telephone, computer, POS system, and timeclock.
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions including hot, rainy, windy, and cooler weather.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to drive a golf cart without assistance.
- Must be able to exit golf cart and traverse varied landscape on foot.
- Practice safe knife skills and follow food handling procedures.
- Must be comfortable working in small spaces with other people.
Work Environment:
This role requires a combination of indoor food service work and outdoor beverage cart operation. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic, member-focused club environment where professionalism and courtesy are paramount. This position requires strong team-oriented skills and a cooperative mindset.
