SALARY RANGE: $29,531 - $45,141
Ad Valorem - 2.40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries. The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year based on actual tax revenues).
The mininum requirement is an associates or higher degree in ASL, communication or interpretation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree
- Must be willing to work with staff, students, and parents
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift children and/or crouch
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned as part of the job assignment and job requirements
- Willing to receive and implement additional training as needed
- Accurately and impartially convert spoken language into ASL and vice-versa ensuring clear communication between students and staff
