We currently have an opening for a National Sales Manager for Infection Prevention and Surgical Solutions (IPSS) with 5-6 direct reports.

Primary Scope:

  • Achieve Sales Targets for total region/area of respnsibility
  • Development of sales team to develop each individual and facilitate the development of high performing sales team

Responsibilities:

  • To achieve annual sales targets for MSD Division in area of responsibility
  • Identify sales training needs and develop ongoing sales training plan in conjunction with Business Leader
  • Ensure attendance of direct reports at relevant sales training courses
  • Annual development of Individual Development Plans for each sales team member with quarterly review of plans.
  • Work with Commercial Contracts team to align sales team on execution of pre and post tender activities
  • Identify major tenders, contracts and pricing agreements for region/state and ensure team has clarity around actions required to drive business growth
  • Participate in strategic planning processes and operational planning
  • Ensure team provides ongoing market based information to support process.
  • Ensure Sales team are trained and in compliance with Salesforce Business rules
  • Review Sales plans with each report quarterly
  • Ensure that all supervised staff meet the acceptable performance standard of their position and take corrective action if need be.
  • Ensure all compulsory Legal and Compliance training is completed on time.
  • Deliver on the Growth expectations of the IP&SS business, contribute to mid- and long-term strategic planning and work with marketing to ensure the successful launch of NPI
  • Work with marketing to ensure inventory on hand meets the business requirements

Preferred Qualifications/Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferable Medical or Science-related qualifications
  • 10+ years of sales management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the hospital and out-of-hospital markets in Australia.
  • People leadership experience, team engagement and motivation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Commercial execution including; understand and communicate complex technical information.
  • Confident user of Excel, Word, Lotus Notes and Powerpoint. Experience with interpreting and understanding financial information is of benefit.
