Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for an Assistant Flexographer for our Anniston, AL facility.
Functional Responsibilities
- Obtain all needed materials to proof and mount plates in a timely manner
- Proof and mount printing plates efficiently, with high quality and low waste
- Assure that quality monitors, production reports, and any other necessary documents are properly completed
- Assure that Hood Packaging Corporation or customer-ordered quality checks, tests, and procedures are followed
- Work cooperatively with press crews and relief to communicate all useful information
- Follow established guidelines for maintaining safe and clean work area
- Assist Flexographer on product quality and production
- Assure that all ink and paper reports are completed properly
- Tag paper and print, according to procedures
- Must know, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all safety rules and understand working safely is a condition of employment
- Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP's, Work Instructions, and Food Safety Quality System requirements (SQF) are in compliance
Functional Requirements
- Must be able to work effectively with crew, promoting a team environment
- Maintain quotas and production standards
- Safety equipment/PPE required (safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses)
- Shift work required
- Frequent reading, writing, perceiving, and remembering
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling
- Frequent lifting up to 50lbs, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Skills
- Read and understand a manufacturing order
- Use appropriate tools to properly layout print and packaging for both digital and conventional applications
- Understand the mechanics of the machine and properly set up machine to meet requirements of manufacturing order
- Must work effectively as a team player and demonstrate and promote team spirit
- Must be able to successfully communicate with other team members to ensure customer requirements are met
- Demonstrate, follow, and practice all safety rules, policies, and practices at all times
