Job Title: Parts Manager

Peak Thermo King is looking to add a Parts Manager to our team in Seattle. The Parts Manager oversees inventory and sales of the parts department, and works with parts suppliers and vendors to maintain supplies and inventory accuracy and tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees parts processes and distribution, as well creating smooth processes to ensure the successful operation of the parts department as part of all services.
  • Proactively researches and tracks product and technology changes as they relate to parts.   Makes recommendations as needed on inventory expansions and changes.
  • Determines quantities needed to meet needs of supply and demand.
  • Set up and maintain distributor relationships with parts suppliers.  Sources parts and the optimal quality and price level.
  • Maintains and oversees purchasing systems, PO processes, parts sales software.
  • Works to ensure timely parts turnaround and services.
  • Implements cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory, and researches and reconciles variances.  Manages year-end inventory counts.
  • Maintains regular reporting on sales, budgeting and inventory of the parts department.
  • Forecasts sales and sets goals for department.
  • Maintain stock rotation/inventory and accounts for and handles obsolete inventory.
  • Oversees customer service standards of parts sales and coordination and relationships with service department.  
  • Establishes a productive, accurate, easy to use system for parts use and accuracy.
  • Acts as a supervisor and leader of parts staff including recommendations on hiring, pay changes, performance reviews discipline and employment status of all staff.   Oversees initial and ongoing training and development, support, and a positive and productive department culture.
  • Always considers updates and developments to ensure ongoing efficiencies and development of the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Sales and customer service skills
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Organization and mathematical skills to manage inventory, pricing and estimates
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and sometimes loud environment.
  • Leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of the parts department.
  • Mechanical and parts knowledge and experience sufficient to work closely with parts in inventory.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 5 years’ experience in automotive or heavy machinery related parts service.
  • Strong understanding of the parts, purchasing and accounting of the parts department and their integral role within Peak Industrial services.
  • Experience with parts management technology and computer systems.
  • Commitment to Peak Industrial purpose and core values.

Preferred:

  • Prior leadership experience in overseeing staff.
  • Prior experience managing a parts department and staff.
