Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with the people we support in various settings such as in the community and supported family living as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Hartington, NE and the surrounding areas.
What You’ll Do: You will work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting them with day to day living activities. You will support individuals in their home environment and in community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, or household chores. As a DSP, you must display a strong sense of professionalism since you will be going into other people’s homes.
Key Responsibilities for this position:
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation, based on the individual’s level of need.
- Support the individual in developing and maintaining skills, which could include money management, household chores, self-advocacy, and communication. Based on individual's needs, goals, and support plan.
- Implement goals and objectives from the individual’s person-centered support plan and document progress as required.
- Monitor and promote the individual’s health and well-being while following safety protocols.
- Encourage social interaction and community inclusion through meaningful activities and relationship building.
- This position requires you to transport individuals in a motor vehicle.
Shifts Needed: Evenings and every other weekend. Flexible shifts are available as hours may vary depending upon individual's needs.

Requirements: Must be 18 years old. Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Must be able to pass all background checks. Experience not required.
Pay: $16.50 hour is starting pay. Pay range is $16.50/hr.-$18/hr. We pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license. Incentives also available.
