Job Compensation: Annual salary base of $50,000 plus uncapped commission earnings from new and existing customers’ sales. A company vehicle will be provided for this role. 
  

Job Summary:

Promote the Carrier/MCT brand in general: New equipment, Parts & Service sales for refrigeration units to existing and primarily to new customers. The Parts Sales Representative is responsible for achieving department sales goals through ongoing business development of current and new customers. Sales experience in the trucking-transportation or refrigeration industry is preferred. This position may require occasional overnight travel.
  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify and call on prospective customers, as well as exploring additional business opportunities with existing customers.  
  • Prospect and perform face-to-face sales calls with customers on a regular basis. 
  • Identify customer’s parts needs and locate part numbers in the appropriate parts books or via electronic records.
  • Prepare parts sales proposals for customers, using most appropriate price rate. 
  • Identify trends and competition in markets and advocates action to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
  • Strengthens the customer experience by highlighting the added value we bring through our products and services. Communicates business issues with leadership, to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Ensure strong customer retention levels through effective execution of sales and marketing plans, delivering service excellence, and ensuring prompt and effective service recovery
  • Maintains and updates customer files in our systems including notes on all customer interactions.
  • Ensure all necessary contract paperwork is complete and submitted timely.
  • Enhance sales department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Assist with events, marketing and being able to attend product promotion shows and work extended hours when needed.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Create and manage MCT Product sales promotions and dealer awareness. 
  • Develop and implement action plans to increase sales, margins and profitability.
  • Communicates with Sales Manager to establish necessary and acceptable margins for earning business.
  • Communicate with Sales Manager on any capital equipment referrals for equipment sales. 
  • Submit weekly progress updates and expense reports.
  • Attend and actively participate in Sales meetings to review performance, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Constantly on the lookout for new customers and provides a detailed call report including company name, contact, description of business, and plan of action.
  • Process customer orders through the computer system and make the delivery, if needed. 
  • Maintains sales goals and growth for the territory
  • Quickly and efficiently responds to internal and external customer needs
  • Attention to detail in every facet of inventory.
  • Responsible Attendance and punctuality, starting and finishing the workday as stipulated by guidelines or assigned schedule.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by management.
     

Job Requirements:

  • Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communications, Documentation Skills, Job Knowledge, and Quality Performance.
  • APU, EPU, and TRU and part sales knowledge a plus.  
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience of three years with outside sales
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, stand, work with their hands, reach grab and bend.

  • Attendance and punctuality are essential job functions. Understand the typical format of company schedules to manage time efficiently.
