Job Description
JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant II
REPORTS TO: Controller
FLSA: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Assists the Controller in a wide variety of day-to-day, monthly and annual functions to support the financial recordkeeping and reporting function. Prepares a variety of distributable metrics and reports to various management levels. This position will gain an understanding of all aspects of the accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with general account analysis and reconciliations. Assist with the month-end close process to support the timely preparation and distribution of the monthly financial statements.
- Daily reconciliation of cash account.
- Post daily Process Inventory Transactions and investigate variances.
- Responsible for reviewing daily Engineering Change Orders and updating standard costs accordingly.
- Review of daily Receiving transactions and posting after investigating variances.
- Review Purchase Orders daily for correct general ledger account assignment.
- Primary responsibility for job costing of tooling and innovation projects. Responsible for review of purchase orders and labor records assigned to projects for accuracy, reasonableness and proper classification. Primary responsibility to input certain data into tooling projects for metric purposes.
- Responsible for updating Other Assets, Cash, Payables, Building Allocation, and Prepaids on a recurring basis.
- Review of Employee Expense Reports on a monthly basis for general ledger account accuracy.
- Provide financial analysis to all departments as needed.
- Assist with preparation of annual tax return and audit workpapers.
- Serves as primary backup for accounts receivable functions.
- Performs duties in accordance with Accumold’s Core Values, Policies, and Objectives. This includes the Quality Policy and Environmental Policy. Other duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and Personal Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with one to three years of experience in accounting reconciliations and/or auditing.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience in the use of pivot tables, data tables, macros and other advanced Excel functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong independent problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand interrelated business and accounting relationships.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and a professional relationship with internal and external customers.
- Has a strong belief in quality products and effective, excellent customer service.
- Has a strong belief in teamwork and collaboration.
- Must be organized and detail oriented. Must be able to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving, high growth environment.
