About the Department
PAY & BENEFITS:
Pay begins at $45,032.11 annually and is and is dependent upon applicable experience..
In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.

Description:
Position Duties
- Enters, retrieves, reviews or modifies data in police department's computer system; performs data entry functions by keying data into computer; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, or other programs; performs basic maintenance of computer system and office equipment, such as backing up data or replacing paper, ink, or toner; coordinates service/repair activities as needed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality concerning information contained in all police reports.
- Performs customer service functions; provides information/assistance regarding department services involving court dates, traffic tickets, accidents, arrests, case files, insurance claims; and procedures, and fees related to such issues; distributes forms/documentation/reports as requested in accordance with police department policy; responds to routine questions, complaints or requests for service; initiates problem resolution.
- Prepares and maintain case files for presentation in court by officers.
- Receives and account for monies collected for report copies.
- Assists in ordering supplies, materials and other commodities and maintain inventory of stored items.
- Performs reception functions; answers telephone calls and greets visitors; ascertains nature of business, directs callers/visitors to appropriate personnel, and records/relays messages; initiates and returns calls as necessary.
- Plans, coordinates and assists in special projects and events.
- Accurately files and maintains vast amounts of documents and records.
- Promotes the teamwork environment. Assists coworkers when necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of Age
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (per TBI)
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess and maintain a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
- Must pass an extensive background investigation with no felony convictions
- Must have Two (2) years of clerical or office experience in law enforcement, courts, or legal administration
- Ability to read and speak Spanish is preferred.
- Must be able to attend training and maintain any applicable state certifications (e.g. T.I.B.R.S., N.C.I.C.)
