Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile Lab Technician/Test Engineer to support our engineering team in developing cutting-edge battery technology and electronics. This role combines the responsibilities of a lab technician and a light test engineer, involving hands-on work with electronics as well as creating documentation, internal databases, and spec sheets to support engineering workflows and testing. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electronics, experience with testing and assembly, and proficiency in documentation tools like Word and Excel.

Responsibilities
Assemble and rework electronic components, including soldering, crimping, and creating wire harnesses.
Conduct tests on circuit boards and electronic systems, logging results and generating test reports.
Develop and maintain spec sheets for internal and external use.
Create and manage internal databases using Excel and Word for documentation purposes.
Assist with troubleshooting and diagnostics of electronic systems.
Support the team by maintaining lab equipment, organizing supplies, and ensuring smooth lab operations.
Collaborate with engineers to support testing and development projects.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework in progress toward a relevant degree.
Hands-on experience working with high voltage systems is required. This includes AC up to 480V and DC up to 1000V. Candidate must be confident and competent in operating safely in high voltage environments.
Must follow strict lab safety protocols when working with electrical and high current equipment. Prior safety certification or training in a high voltage setting is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in soldering, wiring, and basic electronic assembly.
Ability to use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, hi-pot testers, temperate chambers, DAQ, and temperature scanners.
Strong skills in Word and Excel for documentation and databasing.
Ability to analyze circuits from schematics.
Physical requirements: Will occasionally/frequently: stand, walk, sit, use both hands, and carry/lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in creating and interpreting spec sheets for electronics.
Knowledge of wire harness design and troubleshooting techniques.
Previous experience in a lab technician or test engineering role.
