Purpose Statement
The job of Distribution Supervisor was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the educational program with specific responsibilities for supervising warehouse and distribution services and activities; overseeing assigned personnel; providing information to others; and scheduling work assignments witl1in established timeframes and standards.
This job reports to Purchasing Coordinator.
Essential Functions
- Assists with the departmental budget for the purpose of ensuring the accurate allocation of expenses and tracking of assets.
- Facilitates staff meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
- Inspects warehouse equipment for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe operating condition.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files, records and/or websites (e.g. MSDS sheets, GOV DEALS, etc.) for the purpose of providing up to date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Oversees laundry, interoffice mail, Miller Park lunch delivery (warmer run), folding chairs/tables, staging services, etc. for the purpose of ensuring pickup and deliveries are completed in an efficient and timely manner
- Oversees the chrome book depository, surplus property, archives, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that items are stored, disposed and/or redistributed in accordance with established district policies and legal requirements
- Oversees various physical inventories (e.g. nutritional, general, health, custodial supplies, etc.) for the purpose of verifying stock, identifying losses, and maintaining inventory levels.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs personnel functions (e.g. training, supervising, evaluating, recommends hiring and/or terminating, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity, and ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, procedures, manuals, bids, budgets, inventory analyses, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
- Procures and monitors equipment, supplies, and materials for the purpose of maintaining avaHabi!ity of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
- Receives stock and nonstock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are al! correct.
- Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's goals and objectives.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.
- Solicits quotations for the purpose of providing cost information, making purchases, and securing items.
- Supervises warehouse and distribution services for the purpose of providing efficient operations in a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Supports school events (e.g. graduations, October Fest, Candle Lighting, Holly Fest, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring chairs, stages, tables and/or other supplies are delivered in an efficient and timely manner.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: using materials handling equipment including operating forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.; operating standard office equipment; various software computer programs; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facHitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledgebased competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: materials handling and storage including OSHA requirements for storing hazardous chemicals.
ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/01· events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utHizfng defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; and monitoring budget expenditures. Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 30% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.
Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Education Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in job related area.
Equivalency 5 years of personnel management.
