Essential Functions:
- Ensures accurate and efficient patient registration, insurance capture, authorizations, and point-of-service collections.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller, department leaders, clinical leadership, and external partners to streamline and optimize workflows.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Patient Services team members in assigned areas, fostering a culture of accountability, Quality improvement and professional growth.
- Serves as a liaison with auditors, regulators, and external consultants related to financial operations when necessary - with the support of the Controller.
- Oversee and appropriately manage collections, payment plans and adjustments for patent accounts in consultation with the Controller.
- Prepares and files the Medicare Credit Balance reports
- Prepares and files the monthly PNWPop CHARS report.
- Review weekly bank balances and determine deposit amount for the Treasurer’s Fund.
- Communicates with patients regarding billing.
- Maintain statistics for Assisted Living, Inpatient, and Swing Bed Billing ProviderOne.
- Oversee and finalizes all resident and patient accounts including Quail Court.
- Prepare and mail monthly statements to Quail Court and Long-Term Care residents.
- Submit reports and claims to long-term care insurance providers with attention to detail.
- Assist with Charity Care applications and file quarterly charity reports to maintain compliance
- Perform manual billing for ambulance services using appropriate mileage calculations and modifiers
- Oversee all work queues and ensure timely completion of tasks in individual work queues.
- Prepare and review refund documentation for patients with credit balances and coordinate with Accounts Payable for timely reimbursement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Leadership/Supervisory Skills
- Attends and participates in Leadership meetings, including daily organizational huddles, monthly leadership team meetings, monthly leadership touchpoints, leadership development meetings and other relevant meetings as needed.
- Meets with staff members for monthly touchpoint meetings.
- Meets with staff members for coaching meetings and annual evaluations for each staff member.
- This is a working leadership position. This leader will also help to cover all positions for Patient Access.
Pay range $29.00 - $39.00 DOE
Required Education and Certification
- Knowledge of medical billing practices, payer requirements, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in patient registration, or customer service.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems; experience with rural health or critical access hospital systems is a plus.
- This is a working leadership position. This leader will also help to cover all positions for Patient Access.
