ASSOCIATE INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT-STAGECRAFT ($24.09 - $38.52 1-20 Years) at Natomas Charter School

Under the direction of the Academy Principal, the Performing and Fine Arts Academy (PFAA) Associate Instructional Support-Stagecraft Teacher is responsible for working closely with the Theater Arts Department, Music, and Dance departments in producing PFAA's award-winning shows. The Stagecraft Teacher teaches stagecraft classes and works with a team of students to design and build sets, as well as design lighting and audio for middle and high school productions. Currently this position is structured as Stagecraft teacher (~50%) and Theater Director (~50%). However, Natomas Charter School is willing to explore alternative staffing arrangements for interested and qualified individuals. Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment in which staff engages in cross-curricular, cross-grade level planning and non-scripted curriculum is essential. The Stagecraft Teacher / Technical Director must provide a high quality educational program with the dedication and desire to go above and beyond to ensure that our students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Minimum Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree - Professional Experience in Stagecraft / Technical Directing - Single Subject or CTE Teaching Credential or enrollment in an internship/credential program - CLAD/CTEL Certificated or EL Authorization (if required) Other Requirements: Must hold a valid California Driver’s License and must provide proof of automobile insurance coverage. Testing of tuberculosis (skin test or chest x-ray) is required upon employment and every four years thereafter. Natomas Charter School- PFAA is recruiting a dynamic educator to join our theater department. The Associate Instructional Support - Stagecraft works closely with our Stagecraft teacher theater, dance, and music departments to produce middle and high school shows, as well as mentor students in the technical aspects of performances. * Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Assists a certificated Stagecraft teacher (or teachers) in providing instruction to students, and observing and monitoring the behavior of students. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly learning environment. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the BPAC in coordination with the Technical Director. Provides support to teacher by setting up work areas, displays and exhibits, operating audio-visual equipment, operating educational training equipment and distributing and collecting papers and supplies. Provides support in construction, pick up, and return of scenery, props, costumes, and equipment for PFAA productions and also supervises performances at the BPAC. Drives occasionally for school business. Works with Technical Director to ensure all technical staffing needs are met. Performs proper emergency protocol when needed. Performs clerical work as needed, including routine written and oral communication. Understands and applies the vision and mission of Natomas Charter School, the BPAC, and the Natomas Arts and Education Foundation.
