POSITION PURPOSE:
The Continuing Education Allied Health Student Support person is responsible for guiding students through enrollment in Allied Health programs. This includes student advising, document submission, program intake requirements for enrollment, and student registration. This position reports directly to the Dean of Workforce & Career Pathways.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Continuing Education Coordinator on allied health programs hosted by Continuing Education.
- Provide help to allied health students with regards to admissions, enrollment, cashiering, financial aid and advising.
- Attend recruiting events.
- Provide program intake and registration of students for allied health classes.
- Communicate with students regarding access to Navarro College facilities and systems, course dates, course cancellations or changes, and other information as needed.
- Maintain contact with students after program completion as appropriate and required to track employment and other deliverables.
- Communicate regularly with the Dean of Workforce & Career Pathways regarding institutional activities including achievement toward deliverables, enrollment or other metrics, scheduling, partner activity, and other status activities as needed. Advise the Dean on all matters relating to areas of responsibility and keep him/her fully informed.
- Represent Navarro College in a professional manner to internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Workforce & Career Pathways.

- Ability to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders including students, faculty, administrators, staff, business and industry partners, and community partners.
- An innovative, enthusiastic approach to accomplishing goals and objectives.
- Skill in creating and implementing marketing plans and materials, conducting outreach, and conducting recruitment activities.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand regulations and legal documents.
- Strong computer skills and ability to use current software packages including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Demonstrated skill at establishing and maintaining relationships with business, industry, and economic development partners.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations, host focus groups or meetings, and conduct needs assessments to guide curriculum development activities.
- Background in allied health careers to support students in establishing a career pathway.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Associate Degree or related licensure or credentials
- Will consider any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Minimum of two years working in a college setting with advising or student support.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Background in healthcare to assist students in determining a career path.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Variances from regular working hours will be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Work flexible hours including daytime, evenings and weekends to observe courses, manage registration, and attend Navarro College meetings, courses, and special events.
- Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.
- The primary office location for this position is at the Waxahachie location, but travel within the district is routine and required.
SALARY: $20.00 per hour / up to 19 hrs. per week
