Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday 7:30a-7:30p (varying schedule), Saturday 8a-12:30p

The role you’ll contribute:
The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

- Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results
- Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures
- May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty
- May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs
- Safety/Whole care
- Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required
- Is responsible for maintaining OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance
- Follows safety processes and policies to ensure appropriate care is given
- Provides and ensures patients receive whole care in all aspects of an office visit, regarding intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, closure of care gaps and all aspects necessary following AHMG policies.
- Efficiency
- Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patient and equipment for the needed treatment and initiates testing and documents results into the practice’s designated system when appropriate.
- Clinical competencies must be passed annually
- May include written test
- Must stay up to date and familiar with all policies
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School Grad or Equiv Required
- One or more years of Work Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology
- Knowledge of chronic disease management
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources
- Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems
- Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques
- Ability to resolve issues and work independently within the scope of their certification
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy and a professional demeanor
- Experience with computers required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Preferred or
- American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Required or
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required or
National Center for Competency Testing-Medical Asst (NCCT) Required or
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Required
