At Vessel Technologies, we are building a new kind of housing company. Our mission is to deliver beautifully designed, attainable homes at scale — leveraging advanced manufacturing, technology, and a new approach to community living. We are a fast-growing, mission-driven organization headquartered in New York City with operations expanding across the country.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our NYC-based finance team. This individual will own and manage the full accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance as Vessel scales rapidly. The role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and integral to maintaining strong vendor relationships and financial integrity.
Competitive base salary, bonus potential, participation in Vessel’s Employee Stock Option Program and Comprehensive Benefits.
What You’ll Do
Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approval routing, and payment execution.
Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, ensuring accurate records and timely issue resolution.
Review and process employee expense reports and corporate credit card reconciliations.
Support month-end close activities, including AP accruals and reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of AP-related reports and audits.
Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Mentor junior staff and help build out a high-performing finance operations team.
Who You Are
5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience; prior experience in real estate, construction, or manufacturing a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and AP best practices.
Required: hands-on experience with NetSuite (vendor setup, invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs).
Experience with AP automation tools (e.g., Ramp) is a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Based in New York City; this is primarily an in-person role at our NYC office.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in building the finance function of a rapidly scaling, mission-driven housing company and work with a collaborative, innovative, and high-growth work culture.
