We are a leading mechanical contractor serving large-scale commercial and industrial clients, and we are seeking a skilled Commercial Plumber to join our Prefabrication Shop team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in assembling plumbing systems in a controlled shop environment and must be proficient in soldering and brazing copper piping.
This position is critical to ensuring high-quality prefabricated assemblies are delivered to our job sites safely, efficiently, and per project specifications.
Requirements
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings for commercial plumbing systems.
- Fabricate plumbing assemblies, including water, sanitary, and hydronic systems, in a shop setting.
- Solder and braze copper pipe and fittings to meet code and project requirements.
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using tools such as pipe cutters, torches, and power threaders.
- Ensure all prefabricated systems meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and welders to ensure timely delivery of shop-built assemblies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety policies.
- Assist in inventory control and materials handling within the shop.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial plumbing, preferably in a prefabrication or fabrication shop environment.
- Proven proficiency in soldering and brazing copper piping.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with various pipe materials (e.g., copper, PVC, steel, PEX).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Excellent communication in English and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship training is a plus.
Essential Functions:
· Climbing up and down ladders
· Push, pull and frequently carry objects as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. – Stand and walk for long periods of time. –
· See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
· Overtime and weekend availability, regular attendance
