Primary responsibilities include the daily management of the team in operating site HVAC systems and executing planned maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of HVAC systems in support of the manufacturing of life saving pharmaceutical products. The individual is responsible for the 24/7 operation of the site mechanical system and maintains an on-call rotation for the team. The account requires a focus on ensuring reliability, availability, and operational safety. This will be achieved through good preventive maintenance techniques, sound engineering practices, and reliability-centered strategies. The individual will play a key role during the divestiture of business assets being acquired by a life sciences partner. This will require developing methods to meet the needs of both clients and cohesion between the two operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical systems, proven leadership capabilities in the field and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic campus environment. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with and shadow the current Pharmaceutical Accounts Director to become acclimated with the site operation, hazards, policies, procedures, staff, and culture.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 15 years field experience. Facilities management experience is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred.
- This individual should be a self-starter with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and technical skills, with the capability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong analytical and communications skills are critical.
- Demonstrated ability to apply experience and hands-on mechanical skills to investigate system deficiencies.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency with the use of building management systems.
- Candidates must be a member of local 537.
