Title: Network & Systems Administrator Reports To: Director of Technology Employee Type: Full-Time, 12-Months, Salary, Exempt
Summary Plan and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. Develop, configure, maintain, support and optimize all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. Ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, servers, software, and communication links. Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze and resolve wireless local area networks (WLAN) hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where required.
Job Responsibilities

Assists in planning, designing and implementing additional networks for continued expansion of CCS.
Assists in research, selection, and deployment of cost-effective technology solutions to meet or exceed educational and staff development goals.
Assists in design, deployment, and maintenance of network topology and infrastructure, including, but not limited to: LAN, WAN, Internet, web filter/private security cloud, email, firewall, file server, WiFi access points, foodservice database, student information (PowerSchool, Schoology), etc.
Implements and maintains network policies and security.
Assists with implementing and maintaining CCS’s telecommunication systems.
Assists with implementing and maintaining CCS disaster recovery plan (including backups, email litigation, etc.)
Maintains computers, servers, switches and other technology assets to ensure smooth, uninterrupted and reliable service.
Shares responsibility for professional, cooperative staff relations and for out-of-class activities important to operation of school.
Conducts himself or herself according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school
Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model.
Continually strives to improve methods, techniques, and interpersonal relationships.
Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to CCS’s employee records, financial information and students’ records.
Shares a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of CCS.
Assumes other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Technology.
Abides by the CCS Employee Manual as well as CCS policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Three to five years experience in the field or a related field.
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
System Administration certifications applicable to technologies in use at CCS (MCSA, MCSE, PCCSA, Network+, Security+, Hyper-V virtualization, etc.) preferred.
Experience in System Administration with MS Windows Servers, Google Workspace, AD Management etc…
Knowledge of routers and switching technology (Ruckus, Cisco, HP).
Knowledge of firewall management, especially with Palo Alto technologies
Knowledge of firewall and packet filtering technologies.
Knowledge of security applications, such as: Checkpoint, SentinelOne, Zscaler.
Experience implementing TCP/IP networks including IP network design, Directory Services, DHCP, WINS, DNS, network printing, etc.
Experience in the deployment of Internet services, including WAN routing, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH and NAT.
Experience managing Help Desk services.
Familiarity with digital and VoIP phone systems.
Expertise in conveying complex subjects in simple concise terms to non-technical individuals.
Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to originate strategic thinking.
Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt
Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.
