We’re currently looking for a Backup Babysitter in Reading, UK (RG1 2NT)
A family in Reading, near The Oracle Shopping Centre, is seeking a warm and engaging caregiver to provide care for a 24-month-old son. This family is looking for a fun and energetic caregiver for their occasional backup needs, for coverage during nursery closures and days off from school.
Schedule: As needed
- Tuesdays & Thursdays + 2 Fridays in October (exact dates TBD)
- Occasional weekend days
- No guaranteed weekly hours
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
Length of Position: Ongoing
Rate: £13–£15+ per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, overall care of a toddler
- Nappy changes - Toilet training when ready
- Warm and serve meals (no cooking required)
- Follow nap schedule
- Light housekeeping related to the child (dishes, play area, etc)
- Take child to the park (10-minute walk in pram)
- Engage in age-appropriate activities, with no screen time
Requirements
- Warm, energetic, and physically active
- Experience with nap schedules and toddler routines
- Authorized to work in the UK
- Minimum 2 years of experience caring for toddlers
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
- Able to pass background, social media, and reference checks
- General Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent
Compensation + Benefits
Position pays £13–£15+ per hour based on experience and qualifications. Client is looking for approximately one day per week of consistent care, plus occasional backup and nursery closure days.
