Job Overview
As a Staff IT Automation Engineer, you will lead and architect large-scale automation solutions that streamline IT operations, increase efficiency, and support the company’s technological growth. You’ll drive complex initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards and innovation in automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement advanced automation systems for IT infrastructure and business processes.
- Lead multiple automation initiatives, guiding design, integration, and deployment across diverse technology stacks.
- Collaborate with teams company-wide to set automation standards, best practices, and system architecture.
- Research and evaluate emerging automation technologies; pilot and roll out upgraded systems and toolsets.
- Own technical leadership for automation, mentoring engineers and fostering continuous improvement in quality and delivery.
- Troubleshoot and optimize automated workflows, ensuring robust, reliable, and scalable solutions.
- Maintain thorough documentation and develop training resources for teams and stakeholders.
- Report progress and results to senior leadership, providing recommendations on process improvements and system advancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s (preferred) degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, IT systems integration, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Selenium).
- Strong coding/scripting skills—Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline management, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud platforms.
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and project management abilities.
- Proven leadership and team collaboration experience.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience influencing technical strategy across business units or departments.
- Familiarity with AI, ML, or robotics technologies in automation.
- Experience with enterprise-scale IT systems or manufacturing automation.
