Role: Team Leader Residential 

Salary: £31,245.00 per annum plus £700 on call allowance 

Location: Hexham, Northumberland

Contract/Hours: Fixed term contract until June 2026, 37 hours per week

Interviews will take place in person on Wednesday the 10th of September 2025.

A bit about the role: 

Monksfield provides quality short breaks and long stays for children with disabilities aged 6–17 years old. We provide a nurturing and fun environment in which young people feel safe and free to gain a sense of themselves. Your skills, passions and interests could help us to continue achieving this. Whether it’s being a whizz on the PlayStation, creating origami animals or exploring nature you can inspire our children. 

We have two homes on the same site in Monksfield. Acorn provides short breaks, and Adlin House is a 4-bed long-stay Children’s Home.

How you'll help to create brighter futures:

As a Children's Team Leader Residential, you will work with the Senior team in the day to day running of the home as part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring that the young person is in the safe Supporting environment required to nurture their needs.

  • Leading shifts and supervising staff
  • Link working with young people (managing paperwork and files).
  • Developing care plans and identifying agreed outcomes.
  • Responsible for the safeguarding of young people.
  • Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people.

Let's talk about you.

  • In this role as Team Leader Residential, you'll contribute to our vision of ensuring safe and happy childhoods. To achieve that real change to vulnerable children, young people and families, there'll be certain qualities that you will have.
  • Experience of working with children or young people with complex needs within a residential setting.
  • Level 3 QCF Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or the willingness to undertake the level 3 qualification.
  • Experience of Ofsted is an advantage but not essential. 
  • An understanding of attachment theory and impact of adverse childhood experiences on the development and behaviour of children and young people.
  • A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people,
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team. - IT literate, the ideal candidate must be confident in using a computer.
