 Job Description: Manager, Teacher Support & Retention (Early Childhood)

About the Manager, Teacher Support & Retention:

Reporting to the district Director of Recruitment, the Manager, Teacher Support & Retention is responsible for contributing to the development of highly effective teachers. The Manager works in alignment with central office and school leaders to support development and implementation of processes and practices that support the district’s teacher pipeline and retention goals, specifically around critical shortage areas.

 

The Manager, Teacher Support & Retention is responsible for:

?        Establishing innovative recruitment and retention strategies and programs with an emphasis on difficult-to-staff

positions

?        Working collaboratively with district staff members to target specific approaches leading to an increased number of qualified applicants for difficult-to-staff positions

?        Assisting in developing and revising the search and selection process for qualified candidates

?        Conducting onboarding interviews of new teachers and working with building principals and school leadership teams to ensure new teachers are receiving the appropriate support as they acclimate to the school and district

?        Analyzing available data to identify areas of need as they relate to employee recruitment, retention, and turnover 

?        Developing and conducting “stay” interviews with the goal of strengthening retention strategies 

?        Using metrics to track the success/failure of recruitment and retention activities

?        Designing and implementing the district’s New Teacher Induction program

?        Developing materials related to career pathways and developing staff members’ understanding of and interest in such opportunities

?        Conducting offboarding interviews with resigning or retiring employees to inform future recruitment and retention strategies

Key Competencies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

?        Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving and consensus-building expertise, and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively

?        Previous success in developing and facilitating professional learning for beginning teachers.

?        Strong instructional foundation and current knowledge of principle of adult learning

?        Thorough knowledge of current educational research and best practices for instruction

?        Understanding of inclusive practices, standards-based literacy and mathematics instruction, and integrated/cross-curricular approaches.

 

Required Certifications/Licensures:

?     Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Education Administration or other closely related area

?     Teaching License Required

 

Required Experiences:

?     Three years successful teaching experience

Grade:AA-AAAA
Days Employed:230 per school year
Range:$59,037.00 annually – $94,904.00 annually
Overtime:Exempt
