Elementary Paraprofessional – Special Education

Aitkin School District #1 is seeking an Elementary Paraprofessional to join our Special Education Department. This role involves working with students across a variety of ability levels and collaborating closely with special services team members.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to ensuring that students with special needs and emotional disabilities receive a high-quality education aligned with their individualized goals and state standards.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
Two (2) or more years of post-secondary education OR successful completion of the ParaPro assessment (willingness to take and pass the assessment if not already completed)
Ability to support and implement student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to student growth, achievement, and success
Job Summary
Collaborate with teaching staff to support the growth and development of students with diverse disabilities
Participate actively in regular paraprofessional meetings
Document and collect data to monitor student progress and IEP goals
Communicate regularly with teachers, colleagues, and administrators using a variety of technology platforms
Support students in maintaining high standards for academic achievement, including homework and classroom learning activities
