In this role, you will apply your craft and passion for bringing new ideas and concepts to life through building prototype bucks, mules, alphas, and validation hardware to accelerate the development of our autonomous vehicle platform. Through close cross-functional collaboration with our design, engineering, and manufacturing teams, you will be part of delivering innovative solutions for AV hardware, ensuring performance, safety, and scalability.
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Work closely with engineers and prototype technicians to build complex electromechanical systems, prototypes, bucks, mules, and alphas to produce next-generation vehicles and platforms.
Support the bring-up of systems that require the use of your debug and diagnostic skills.
Employ strong prototyping abilities that accelerate decision-making and development time.
Maintain build documentation (BOMs, assembly guides, test reports).
Provide cross-functional feedback to the team to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Vehicle Technician training, or related accredited training.
5+ years of industry experience.
Ability to build and assemble electromechanical systems with minimal instructions.
Ability to read electrical schematics and CAD drawings.
Ability to modify electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies.
Experience with root cause analysis and diagnostic tools.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with hands-on prototyping (fabrication, welding, composites, etc.) and designing and building tools, jigs, and fixtures.
Supplier management and development to support Prototyping.
Skilled with productivity and documentation tools such as Google Suite, Jira, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
