Additional Information: Show/Hide Position Title: Assistant Principal: Secondary (Anticipated)
Term of Employment: 12 Month Position
Location: Erie High School
Salary: Per the Act 93 agreement.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Building Principal.
Qualifications:
PA Certification as Elementary and/or Secondary Principal.
NTE/PRAXIS test requirement including Specialty Test for Administrators.
Must hold or obtain FBI, Criminal Check, and Child Abuse Clearances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the area of curriculum development/supervision, currently approved by EPS Board of Directors.
Demonstrated knowledge of current district initiatives and researched best practices.
Demonstrated competency in use of technology including, but not limited to, Infinite Campus and adopted curriculum platforms.
Demonstrated ability via computer to write and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated sound theoretical understanding of teaching/learning as it applies to urban education, at the secondary level.
Demonstrated proven leadership, supervision, and managerial skills.
Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team.
Demonstrate knowledge of EPS Code of Conduct, counseling students regarding acceptable school behavior expectations at the secondary level. Recommend appropriate, supportive action to be taken when necessary.
Direct the activities of the staff and students to ensure a safe, orderly, and smooth functioning environment conducive to learning.
Collaborate with principal to supervise and evaluate teachers, supervisors, and nonprofessional staff as assigned.
Demonstrate knowledge of community supports available to secondary students.
Serve on various committees to represent the high school at the direction of the principal. IE., SWPBIS, ILT, SAP, etc.
Work/meet with other administrators and staff to foster and participate in team collaboration and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned by high school principal.
Experience providing support for chronically absent students.
Supervise extra-curricular and sporting events.
