POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a dedicated, culturally responsive Grade 3 Teacher to join our International Education Magnet School. The ideal candidate will foster global-mindedness, inquiry-based learning, and cross-disciplinary understanding in young learners. This teacher will create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that supports academic growth and nurtures students’ curiosity about the world around them.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and deliver standards-based, developmentally appropriate instruction across all core subjects (ELA, math, science, social studies) within the framework of an international education theme.
Integrate global perspectives, cultures, languages, and current events into daily instruction to promote international mindedness and cultural competency.
Use inquiry-based and student-centered instructional strategies to encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity.
Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom culture where diversity is valued and celebrated.
Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction with the school’s international education theme and grade-level expectations.
Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods; differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Engage families and the school community in support of student learning and international awareness.
Participate in ongoing professional development related to international education, primary years pedagogy, and best teaching practices.
Use technology to enhance learning and connect students to the global community.
Maintain accurate student records, meet deadlines, and uphold school and district policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid state teaching certification
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated experience or interest in global education, multicultural curriculum, or international programs.
Proven ability to teach diverse learners using culturally responsive practices
