KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Route Planning: Design and optimize daily delivery routes for final mile drivers using routing software, GPS tools, and delivery constraints (e.g., time windows, truck capacities, traffic patterns).
- Capacity Management: Ensure efficient vehicle utilization while meeting service level agreements and delivery deadlines.
- System Coordination: Upload, manage, verify delivery orders in routing and warehouse management systems.
- Communication: Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and dispatch teams to resolve delivery issues, route conflicts, and special customer requests.
- Data Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance, driver productivity, and route efficiency.
- Customer Experience Focus: Consider customer preferences and special delivery instructions to enhance satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze route performance, recommend process improvements, and support implementation of best practices.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
- Route Planning & Delivery Volume: Plans and optimizes 30–80 daily home delivery routes for large-item furniture, balancing time windows, geographic zones, delivery duration per stop, and truck loading constraints.
- Fleet & Capacity Management: Coordinates a delivery fleet in a specific region while maintaining truck capacity utilization above 90%, while minimizing route overlaps and idle time.
- Customer Experience & Satisfaction: Plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction by incorporating time-definite appointments, special instructions (e.g., staircases, narrow access), and proactive issue resolution — supporting high CSAT ratings.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Serves as the central point of coordination across teams, helping resolve exceptions, delivery delays, and load balancing for large, bulky items with narrow delivery windows.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in routing, logistics, or transportation planning, preferably in the furniture or home delivery sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in routing software (e.g., Descartes, Roadnet, DispatchTrack, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations, geographic area, and home delivery operations.
- Travel up to 10%
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with final mile logistics in the furniture or large-item delivery industry.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse and routing systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office-based with occasional visits to the warehouse or dispatch area.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work with computer systems daily.
