Job description
SUMMARY:
- Truck Mechanics perform preventative and emergency maintenance on hostler trucks, vans and pick-up trucks owned by Parsec and perform emergency maintenance on equipment owned by other contractors working at the Terminal.
- Mechanics also inspect equipment for damage or failures, perform diagnostic and repair services, fuel equipment, break down and reassemble tires, and remove and replace damaged or defective components, including fabricating parts as needed.
- Mechanics may also be required to clean the shop area and perform stocking functions. All work performed must be done in a safe and efficient manner.

The Intermodal terminal operates 24 hours per day 365 days of the year. Must be able to work any needed shift (day, swing, night) and weekends. Company will train. Health insurance and benefits are available.
Current Schedule:
- 3:00p – 11:30p, and 11:00p – 7:30a, subject to change at 6 months
This position is unionized and after a 120-day probation period, you will become a union member. Employees are subject to a shift change every six months.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older• Valid driver’s license
- Previous auto and truck mechanical experience required
- Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
- Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Job Requirements:•
- Frequent standing, walking, balancing while walking on elevated catwalks, bending, and grasping.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.29 - $31.80 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Required)
