QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university. A minimum of three years’ experience as a teacher in which the teaching of at-risk and/or students with behavioral challenges is an important responsibility for the position. Must have or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education. Must be able to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and general public.
- Provide daily interventions to students within the school environment who are at risk or in need of behavioral interventions or support.
- Provide and assist students with daily classroom and life skills to promote success in and out of the classroom.
- Provide and communicate with school administration about student progress and challenges.
- Communicate with outside community health providers as required by the principal for referral of services, if needed, for each student.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Effective Date: 2025-2026 School Year
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
