Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, be responsible for the implementation of the district’s literacy and English language arts instructional program. The Literacy Intervention Content Specialist will work with teachers and administrators in the implementation of a balanced literacy program and monitor the program for effectiveness. The content specialist duties include providing professional learning, modeling, coaching, and other support for teachers in the area of balanced literacy instruction, lesson design, student grouping, and adjusting instruction based on identified student needs. In this role, the literacy content specialist will develop and facilitate workshops for families focusing on ways to support literacy development at home.
The current opening is a temporary teaching assignment for the 2025-2026 school year at various school sites. The position is full-time (1 FTE) and includes benefits, and salary placement is based on experience/education (up to 6 years of accepted work experience relevant to the position).

Requirements / Qualifications
•Multiple Subject Credential or a Single Subject in English
•A minimum of five years of successful experience as a classroom teacher.
•Knowledge of effective research-based teaching strategies in order to provide high-quality professional development.
•Knowledge of universal design for learning in order to develop an instructional program that meets the needs of all learners.
•Experience in working collaboratively with grade level/departmental teams to analyze data and improve instruction.
•Experience in providing elementary reading instruction and literacy development
•Coaching and professional development experience preferred

$62,491 - $85,994 annual salary
