Hybrid Press Brake Operator (Monday-Thursday 6am - 4pm) at George Evans Corporation

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for set-up and operation of mechanical brake press and CNC brake press machines producing products that meet quality requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Understands machine setup including: program retrieval and materials and manual set-up of mechanical brake presses.
• Understands start-up and shut down for machines.
• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
• Must be able to read tape measures, use calipers, height gauge and use hand tools.
• Perform press operations efficiently and effectively per specifications.
• Check quality of products and notify supervisor of issues.
• Operates and navigates in a windows based computer environment.
• Read blueprints
• Other duties as assigned

Equipment

• Brake press machines, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment as required; basic tools such as hammers, screw drivers, wrenches, etc.; and forklift.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience operating CNC brake presses and mechanical brake presses. Must be able to complete set-up of machines.
• Ability to interpret drawings and read blueprints
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Some drawing and reading comprehension skills.
• 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent attendance.
• Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work with close tolerances
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Possess some knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals.
• Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift, carry, push and or pull up to 75 lbs. frequently.
• Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
• Sit, stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to work in a hot work environment.
• Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
