SUMMARY OF JOB:Under the direct supervision of the Ultrasound Supervisor, technologists provide high quality ultrasound examinations on various patient types for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of physiologic disorders. Our department offers general, obstetrical and vascular services.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:Formal education in a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program
2 years experience as a sonographer in a hospital setting
*Familiarity with GE equipment a plus
Experience in General, Obstetrical and Vascular ultrasound required
RDMS credentials or eligibility required
*must be RDMS registered within 6 months of hire
RVT credential or eligibility required
*must be RVT registered within 1 year of hire
Must be available to rotate “on call” evenings and weekends, and be available for holiday coverage
CPR certified
Basic knowledge of computers preferred
LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
RDMS certification (Abdomen and/or Obstetrics)
RVT certification
Must maintain 30 CME credits with three years
One hour of annual stroke education
