The Sr Engineer, Manufacturing Alliances will lead the development, execution, and implementation of medium complexity projects requiring functional & industry expertise, functional knowledge, and advocacy while leveraging business relationships to deliver key enterprise results. Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design while leading a portfolio of small to medium sized capital projects. The successful candidate will have strong capability to demonstrate and apply technical knowledge and expertise. Ability to develop and share technical expertise within functional area and cross functionally within the organization as well as with our external partners. Strong problem-solving skills & ability to think critically. Strong capability to communicate complex or technical subject matter written and verbally to different audiences at all levels of the organization. Strong ability to develop external partnerships and leverage networks to provide solutions. The successful candidate will maintain up-to-date expertise in equipment, systems, digital systems, and low-cost sourcing through regular training, certifications, and participation in relevant professional communities to support delivering successful projects.
Accountabilities:
Capital Project Development & Execution:
•Provide technical analyses, develop alternatives, and prepare capital project documentation for small to large capital projects.
•Coordinate and oversee equipment and system installation, check- out, commissioning, and start-up.
Capital Project Management:
•Budget, schedule, and resource management of small to medium size capital projects.
•Utilizing Project Management tools such as PDP and following the FEP process, lead multi-functional teams to deliver projects on time, on budget and within scope
Capital Portfolio Development
•Support development and planning of capital project pipeline for Manufacturing Alliances.
•Work with other departments to advocate MA capital needs and project prioritization.
•Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure growth of capital program towards the future.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes typical for the food and pharma industry, including:
•A working understanding of common process equipment used; A working understanding of packaging equipment; A working understanding of sanitary design and construction practices; A working understanding of GMP’s; A working knowledge of common equipment suppliers.
•Must have some combination of knowledge and basic experience in the design, application, and maintenance of programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), automation and process control, industrial computer systems and networks, and digital and basic AI principles.
Education & Experience:
•BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
•Minimum of 4 years experience in Food Processing, Confectionery, Pharmaceutical or related industries.
